happy easter!

haaaappy easter! although not the religious sort, myself, i love an excuse to celebrate just about anything.

i hope you all have some fun plans with people you love. i'll be celebrating easter with a spanish brunch with a couple of girlfriends on this beautiful day. enjoy some seasonal candy and revel in the gorgeousness of springtime!

it's no secret that i'm a big old sucker for the olsen twins, and their fall collection for the row is no exception. with all of the potential hype their fame and influence could generate, i so appreciate the understated, delicately chic aesthetic of their fw2010 collection. after years of setting trends, and having their style so closely critiqued, i feel as if they've grounded their look and personal approach to fashion.  love it love it - count me in.

semi-wrinkled cotton, olsen style

only ashley olsen could pull off chicago bears colors in semi-wrinkled cotton without looking trashy.  and mk, i'll steal those sleeves and golden animal belt buckle any day. the olsens always put me to shame, gleefully. but as long as i can observe them as delicious eye candy, i'm okay with that.

ashley appears in this stunning editorial in marie claire next month, and the whole thing is absolutely beautiful. if i had a shot of myself framed by a beautiful antique doorway, wearing a high-slit gown perfectly draped around my body, i'm pretty sure i'd die happy.

from the interview:

i just love the goddamn olsen twins. i love how they make the most ridiculous pieces look so fashionable, and how everything they do is underlined and bolded by extreme confidence and self awareness. i could look at photos of them all day. so now you're going to.












i think all good fashion blogs just have an olsens homage every now and then. plus, they just got accepted into the cfda, which is completely brilliant.

cfdamn!

ashley olsen in vintage at the cfda awards last night. it's like balmain meets michael jackson meets the floor...but i love it. the olsens really can pull off anything imaginable, while none of it looks as if it is being "pulled off." it just is, and it's magnificent.

also, way to go vera wang...everything about her looks fierce. i'm such a sucker for sequins.


there were others i liked, but i really loved these two. thoughts? your favorites of the evening?

oh those RINGS. i love them all, and i think that her beautiful little hand looks magnificent. looking at pictures of the dear olsens just makes my day. and this one is starting gloriously with a pot of coffee, blogging from bed, and ashley olsen's perfect, glittering hand.
