the oscar effect

oscar de la renta is a master. watching the industry's hottest young models strut down the runway in sumptuous park avenue fashions is such a treat. it's clear that de la renta designs for the woman who knows how to live and breathe live through a majestical ownership of femininity and class. everything in this collection is so effortlessly timeless, with just the right amount of attention paid to color and accessories as to keep it fresh, current.

someday i'll own a closet full of oscar. and then i'll really feel like a lady.

those boys, boys, boys

the very coolest of the cool, those proenza boys never disappoint. as fur is definitely one of the most resonant themes on this season's runways, i love their brightly hued take - i would kill for the jacket with the top-to-bottom purple fur lapel. color, texture, pattern - with a downtown chic aesthetic, are what hernandez and mccollough do fabulously.  this is a collection that would make me feel hip, and who doesn't love that?

put me on the row

it's no secret that i'm a big old sucker for the olsen twins, and their fall collection for the row is no exception. with all of the potential hype their fame and influence could generate, i so appreciate the understated, delicately chic aesthetic of their fw2010 collection. after years of setting trends, and having their style so closely critiqued, i feel as if they've grounded their look and personal approach to fashion.  love it love it - count me in.

rodarte 2010

i'm disappointed. i don't really love this collection. except apparently the white pieces, which couldn't be less like me. i'm usually such a huge fan of rodarte, but this season doesn't seem to exhibit any fresh inspiration. merely a reinvention of their uber-layered, tattered aesthetic.

in the land of the 'oughts, anything goes. i'm just looking for that "anything" to be truly spectacular.

boy by band of outsiders

i was made for fall. fur and black and layers and tights and all sorts of oddities. i want to be in the band of outsiders.
