rochas my world

the vintage elegance of this collection is just wonderful. the beehives and coral makeup, paired with sleek, slim, retro silhouettes that have so much movement and femininity. the whole gorgeous lot of it makes me sublimely happy for the red lips and big hair i'm taking to class with me this afternoon. no woman should feel less than charming and elegant - all day every day.

i want to be a rochas model. drape me in gold and call it a day.

elle brazil goes sequined

have i made it clear yet that i'm currently entranced by all things sequined? i just love it. they're so fun, so bright, so sassy. and in some regard, timeless. they always come back around. did i tell you guys about the sequined STEAL i found? i should shoot it and throw it up here - but i found a black, sequined catherine malandrino cocktail dress for $60 at a consignment store the other day that's to die for. it fits like a glove and is the perfect motivation to maintain the size i am, because i plan on popping that baby out at every possible occassion.

in the meantime, good job out of elle brazil for this fabulous, sequin-laden december 2009 shoot. do you love?

loving liebemarlene

courtesy of the beautiful kate, who always finds the best fashion gems, i have discovered the amazing style/lifestyle blog of liebemarlene vintage. her style is timeless and fabulous - and the best part of all is her corresponding ebay shop, on which she features many of her lovely vintage items. i can never get enough of discovering new and interesting bloggers, or online vintage stores, and liebemarlene is delightfully chic eye candy.

liebemarlene's owner (left), and her sisters enjoying christmas in tennesse. how completely picturesque are these photos?

peepin

these shoes duly sadden and gladden me...as my pair of patent, loafer-esque shoes are quickly dying. but these headmistress peeptoes from anthropologie are an absolute dream. i've fallen hard for the masculine-inspired shoe craze, and i love myself a good peeptoe.

found on a new blog: ascot friday, via the ever-wonderful moodboard.

check out moodboard today - there's a special mention for sassafras that's tres exciting. thanks, kate!

so frassy

yesterday, while doing some serious blog surfing, i found befrassy.com and fell in love. so much personality, wicked photos, and really well built.

but...

i REALLY died when i discovered frassy rags, frassy's vintage store counterpart. the clothes are sensational, and i've spent a great deal of my working morning cursing international shipping, as i'm coveting pretty much everything. check out this fabulous fash:

all of these beautiful treasures are on sale at frassy rags...check it out.

polaroids capture everything so romantically, with this sensational vintage quality that i could never get enough of. i'd love to have a polaroid retrospective of my life.

blazin with the roo

I've been searching for a fabulous slouchy blazer that will easily transition between all four seasons, and that has some good length to it. I have a shorter tux jacket that I like, but, as I said before, I love things that are oversized.

I've found one! I just bought this Burberry blazer from The Roo Vintage, and I'm pretty excited for it to arrive.

Isn't it lovely? I like that it has a straight lapel, one button, and that it's navy, because I love navy and black together. I'm pretty stoked...and it went for only $30 bucks! It really doesn't get any better than that.

Lisa and Michelle are sisters who started The Roo Vintage, and their thrifted finds are ridiculous. Michelle's a professional model and Lisa's a fierce stylist...together they're an amazing team. Great fashion, great prices...a magical place for new treasures.

It's my summer goal to shop more vintage. On recent shopping trips, I've been hitting walls and not a lot seems to interest me. I feel like everything looks the same and I'm bored with a lot of what's out there right now. Summer is not my favorite season to dress for, as people who know me will tell you. I prefer big coats, lots of layering, and opaque tights. I hate sweating. So I figure recreating my style and sticking to more non-commercialized shopping will be a good challenge and a way to combat my disdain for summer attire.

Comment and send me your favorite online boutiques! I'm always always always looking for people and places that are offering something different.
