alexander wang spring 2010 lookbook: i like these looks. sportswear isn't totally my style, but i think he's a genius when it comes to texture, layering, and the conceptual styling of an outfit. i especially love the bubble shoulders on that grey sweatshir - i would wear that piece constantly. i also like the side-by-side beaty/editorial shots.
this campaign, like most things alexander mcqueen, is a complete orgiastic dream. mcqueen is such a sensational master of presentation...the cracked mirrors, the sultry stares, and the structure of those dresses and that top...are you kidding me? i am obsessed with all things voluminous, draped and overbearing, and would wear everything pictured until it died the death of something that was loved just too, too much.
i'll be honest, though...i am in deep, deep love with the photo for the men's collection. it's part daniel day-lewis in "there will be blood"/part "sweeney todd," the stage version. its an updated 19th century look that conjures images of burberry, but with an australian rural roughness that's so sexy i can't stand it. i love when designers put thought into conceptualizing their campaigns for men. i could care less about campaigns that display male models because they've fit bodies. but this, this i could look at all day long.
i'm so excited to share that sassafras has reached its 200th post! i'm also quite excited because i started my "wired writing" class at saic today and i'm looking forward to all of the html and blogging tips i'm going to learned. i was quite thrilled with myself for knowing the basics that were taught today, as i'm not nearly as web-savvy as i'd like to be, but i'm thrilled with all of things i'll be able to impart into sassafras.
sooooooooo many amazing shows to peruse, although i'd by lying if i said that's what i'm doing right now. instead i'm winding down from a long day in class with season one of true blood (oh, how the obsession reigns) and the world's largest salad. it's good times monday, folks.
allllso, new chicago flame article up, "bookin' it," would love for you all to check it out. it's not the high fashion analysis that i love, as its for a college paper, but it's always nice to get more writing out in the world.
