so hot, i love it. claudia schiffer, freja beha and baptiste giabiconi - a well-known lagerfeld muse - are as sexy and classy as ever in the chanel spring 2010 ads. thanks, karl.

elle brazil goes sequined
have i made it clear yet that i'm currently entranced by all things sequined? i just love it. they're so fun, so bright, so sassy. and in some regard, timeless. they always come back around. did i tell you guys about the sequined STEAL i found? i should shoot it and throw it up here - but i found a black, sequined catherine malandrino cocktail dress for $60 at a consignment store the other day that's to die for. it fits like a glove and is the perfect motivation to maintain the size i am, because i plan on popping that baby out at every possible occassion.
in the meantime, good job out of elle brazil for this fabulous, sequin-laden december 2009 shoot. do you love?

loving liebemarlene
courtesy of the beautiful kate, who always finds the best fashion gems, i have discovered the amazing style/lifestyle blog of liebemarlene vintage. her style is timeless and fabulous - and the best part of all is her corresponding ebay shop, on which she features many of her lovely vintage items. i can never get enough of discovering new and interesting bloggers, or online vintage stores, and liebemarlene is delightfully chic eye candy.

happy holidays
happy holidays, dear readers! i apologize for the belatedness of this post - but do not apologize for my tendency to renege technology when i'm home. oh, how i've needed a good solid vacation.
i hope you all had wonderful, blessed christmases, and that santa was as wonderful to you as he was to me.
sparkle on, my sassafrassers!

lookbook: alexander wang
alexander wang spring 2010 lookbook: i like these looks. sportswear isn't totally my style, but i think he's a genius when it comes to texture, layering, and the conceptual styling of an outfit. i especially love the bubble shoulders on that grey sweatshir - i would wear that piece constantly. i also like the side-by-side beaty/editorial shots.
good lookbooks are such a treat.

Andreia Chaves
much thanks to the lovely emily hannan, a fashion photog here in chicago, for turning me on to designer andreia chaves' incredible, conceptual footwear designs.
according to design blog yatzer.com chaves grew up in brazil, and draws her inspiration from such. "The fact that I grew up in a chaotic city like Sao Paulo, full of contrasts, being in contact with such diversity and constant exposure to different visual inputs, has inspired me in how I think and conceptualize my shoes. Looking at my work, I can clearly see influence coming from my South American sense of versatility. Also in the mix - what I have been experiencing in Europe."
i will never argue with someone doing something different. i am in LOVE with the silver ribbon shoes, and would wear the glass-paned stuff of dreams in the first photo all day everyday.

lady baba
stylist catherine baba is making the rounds - from jak & jil, to twentythirtyforty (love my ladies), to meeeeeeeee.
the first thing i thought when i saw this picture:
was, "oh hi, loulou de la falaise."
who i love, of course. both for playing muse to my dear yves, as well as for being completely and perfectly fabulous. don't even tell me for a second that she doesn't make you want to live in a turban - and i am a lady who loves herself (embarassingly enough. i can't quit it.) some big ole' 80s hair.
