magic marni monday

this marni collection is too gorgeous for words. and in my hazy, mid-afternoon state, it required detail shots and a focus on glorious accessories. i'm just in LOVE with the color palate, and find the mixture of patterns and 60s mod prints absolutely dreamy. this is a collection i could be happy in forever. classy retro chic. and some of the biggest baubles in the land.

tattoo me some fashion

i love tattoos...especially ones that function like jewelry.

although it's not quite practical for me to keep getting tattoos, it's entirely practical (and freaking awesome) to tattoo myself chanel-style.

coming to a chanel boutique near you: chanel temporary tattoos. whaaaaaaaat! look at how gorgeous that necklace is! and sure, i'll stick a couple of jeweled c's on my arm for a while - why not?

at $75 a pop, you can tat yourself 55 times over. i can't wait! i'm going to go crazy.

zip it down, now

by 9am this morning, the cut had already posted this fabulous gold marc by marc jacobs zipper necklace (dutifully sent to me by kate, who's much better about our daily blog routine than i) - which i bought for myself for my birthday in november. there's also a multi-colored version that i got for my sister. they're absolutely gorgeous, and as they're priced brilliant at $13 a piece, you really can't go wrong. plus there's every incentive in the world to get one for yourself so that you can match your giftee.

not a bad way to give gifts at all, if i do say so myself.

bedazzled

i absolutely love these bejeweled shoe accessories. as someone who owns a black version of nearly every shoe ever made, i adore the idea of bedazzling my kicks with some fabulous gems. proving yet again that accessories are the best, most transformative aspect of any outfit, i have now expanded my christmas wish list tenfold.

sidenote: speaking of - check out my holiday wish list on second city style! feel free to express-ship any of these amazing items directly my apartment, thank you very much.

spiked

i mean, damn.

i'm all about conceptual pieces, but these have got to be strictly editorial. there's no way these pieces have any functionality.

although i do love those nail-spiked shoes...

alexis bittar

I loves me some good accessories. Especially bangles. I'm all about a fabulous necklace, but I always feel naked if I don't have something (or many somethings) jangling about my wrists.

I discovered New York jewelry designer Alexis Bittar when he did an interview in this month's W, and I adore his work. He works primarily with lucite and has a super private studio in Brooklyn where he keeps all of the secrets regarding the creation of his amazing accessories to himself.

He says he was drawn to jewelry because he found it "super enchanting." Well, I find both him AND his gems incredibly enchanting. Gaze on friends...love as I do.

Those pieces are a part of his "Miss Havisham" collection, which is my favorite. Not only because I love how structural the pieces are (and all the gold), but also because I have a deep love for Miss Havisham proper...probably more than most people.
